The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA), the National Association of Yemeni Americans (NAYA) and the Yemeni American Anti-Discrimination Committee express serious concern regarding the dire impact of war and conflict on the well-being and the safety of Yemeni Americans’ immediate family members who are stranded in different countries particularly in Djibouti. The recent political developments and the unrest in Djibouti is very alarming and puts thousands of innocent refugees mainly women, elderly and children at risk.

The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA), the National Association of Yemeni Americans (NAYA) and the Yemeni American Anti-Discrimination Committee call upon the Obama administration, specifically the US State Department and Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and all of their related agencies to provide the overdue assistance to the stranded families of Yemeni Americans as well as the refugees who are displaced in refugee camps in Djibouti. We call upon all elected officials and supporters of human rights to help address this humanitarian crisis of the Yemenis in Djibouti.
