[Michigan April 14, 2022]: The American Human Rights Council AHRC (USA) extends its warm greetings to Jews for Passover and to Christians for Easter. The Jewish Passover will be observed and celebrated from Sunset, April 15 to nightfall of April 23. Easter is Sunday, April 17.

Passover is traditionally celebrated for seven days and for eight days among many other Jews across the world. It is also called Pesach. It’s a major Jewish holiday that celebrates the Israelites’ Exodus from Egypt.

Easter marks the end of 40 days of Christian fasting and prayer. Easter is a celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the foundational tenet of the Christian faith. In the Christian faith it represents hope for life after death.

The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar. This year, the Ramadan fast started in April. The fast is from dawn to sunset. In Ramadan, Muslims spend 30 days of fasting, praying, and enjoying the company of friends and family.

“This April is a special month with three major religious celebrations for the three Abrahamic faiths,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “We send our best wishes to the followers of the three faiths,” added Hamad.
