The humanitarian crises in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Sudan, Gaza – Palestine and other parts of the world are appalling. They are the result of the continued conflict and the escalation of war that have created hundreds of thousands of civilian casualties and millions of displaced and refugees. These conflicts have created major human suffering and crises that require immediate humanitarian attention. Millions of displaced people lack basic human needs especially children.

AHRC calls on all of the parties involved at these perspective countries to halt the fight and declare a humanitarian truce during this holy month.  Ramadan is a month of caring, and sharing.  It is a month of peace. AHRC hopes that the spirit of the month will be acknowledged during this time.

“In the Islamic calendar this month is the month of Ramadan, the month of fasting, charity and spiritual renewal” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “We hope that the parties involved in conflicts in the Arab & Muslim  world declare a humanitarian truce for the sake of Ramadan and work on a permanent end of the conflicts,” continued Hamad,
