The American Arab & Muslim communities launched a number of public forums, memorial services and open discussions addressing the chilling effect that arises as a result of the latest horrific hate crimes that claimed the lives of three young Arab & Muslim American students at the University of Carolina-Chapel Hill few days ago. This crime occurred amidst the rise of anti-Muslim rhetoric in America. AHRC is actively combating Islamophobia in America by its sustained involvement and participation in several community settings along with other sister community organizations and institutions including Council On Islamic- American Relations (CAIR-Michigan), American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC-Michigan), the Islamic Center of Detroit (ICD), Islamic House of Wisdom , the American Muslim Council and several others.
