[Dearborn, Michigan November 3, 2014]: The American Human Rights Council (AHRC) calls upon all fellow American citizens and those who are registered voters and eligible to vote not to miss practicing this most precious human right and cast their vote tomorrow, Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Voting is a key opportunity to let our voice be heard. It is not possible to overstate the importance of turnout. Indeed, as every vote counts, the AHRC urges every voter to vote and be part of shaping our common future. Human rights are an integral part of our society and voting is one way to advance them.
Voting is the way where we, the people, may render the desired change towards shaping our common future. It is the time of the year where we exercise this basic human right to its fullest by electing candidates who are supportive to our causes serving our common humanity. The state of human rights in our great American nation still requires more hard work so it can be not only protected or preserved but advanced as well.
AHRC calls upon every registered voter NOT only not to miss tomorrow’s vote but also to help others, family members and friends, to vote. If your children have the day off, take them with you to expose them to the voting experience. AHRC calls upon all to make it a productive day where we all do our share. AHRC reminds all that voting is the people’s power to protect and advance basic rights. Without voting, we compromise our basic rights voluntarily and we help others to comprise them further. Vote tomorrow and get out the vote. Make it a day to celebrate our basic right to vote by voting and help making the difference. Do not miss the vote. Missing the vote is missing your rights. The right to vote is a hard- won right, a result of many decades of struggle and sacrifice. We should not squander this opportunity to shape our future.
“ People should take voting very seriously, we should not underestimate the importance of the vote. Many elections are decided by the narrowest of margins. Each and every vote counts” said Imad Hamad, AHRC acting Director. “Voting is our basic human right that help us render the change we desire. Democracy is not a spectator sport. If you don’t vote, you are not part of the democratic process,” continued Hamad.
