On Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 9am-4pm, ServiceWorks, powered by AmeriCorps, the Citi Foundation and Points of Light, and in partnership with the Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program, will be holding a skill building bootcamp for Detroit area youth and young adults between 16-24 years old. The bootcamp will be held at 6445 E. Vernor Highway, Detroit, MI 48207. Snacks and lunch will be provided.
This important skill building bootcamp will be held in conjunction with the Point of Light’s annual conference on volunteering and service in Detroit. The ServiceWorks bootcamp is an intensive one day seminar designed to give its participants an introduction on how service can be a pathway to college and a career. This event is also designed to encourage young people to become change agents in their own communities. Participants will:
• Earn community service hours
• Strengthen their life and leadership skills
• Gain resources to help develop their professional and career goals
• Make new friends
• Establish professional contacts
• Become active change makers in their community

AHRC-USA encourages youth and young adults ages 16-24 in the Detroit area to participate in this important event. It will be a great opportunity to learn about the importance of volunteer service in your own communities.
