On Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, the Greater Detroit Chapter of the United Nations Association will be hosting a commemoration event of the 71st Anniversary of United Nations Day.  The theme for United Nations day this year is “One Humanity. Shared Responsibility.” The focus will be on the global refugee crisis.

The event will be held at the International Institute of Metro-Detroit located at 111 East Kirby Street in Detroit.  The program will include a national speaker from the United Nations Foundation in addition to local speakers. The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) encourages all to attend this important event. United Nations Day is an important occasion to commemorate so the world’s nations may uphold their claimed values and principles on behalf of humanity.
