[Michigan, July 8, 2022]: The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) extends its best wishes to all Muslims celebrating Eid Al Adha falls on Saturday, July 9, 2022. It is celebrated for three days.

Eid Al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) marks the end of the pilgrimage (Hajj) season to the holy sites in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Edi Al Adha is the second major Islamic holidays. Pilgrimage is one of the five basic pillars of Islam and is obligatory for all Muslims physically and financially able to travel to Mecca.

Eid Al Adha is an occasion of joy, family gatherings, giving, and sharing. While there is every reason to celebrate regardless of the challenges, AHRC continues to urge all to stay mindful of Covid-19 protocols to keep everyone safe.

AHRC urges everyone to continue to be vigilant during mass gatherings for the Eid. We urge all Muslim centers to take all safety measures to ensure safety. AHRC commends all law enforcement agencies for their continued efforts and presence during these holidays assuring the safety of all.

“The Feast of the Sacrifice reminds us of the importance of sacrifice, of selfless giving,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “We urge everyone to give and to give generously,” added Hamad.
