The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) extends its warm wishes to all Muslims in America and across the world who will be observing the fast of Ramadan. The first day of Ramadan is projected to be Saturday, March 1.

The holy month of Ramadan is not only a month of spiritual reflection and fasting from dawn to sunset daily for 30 days, but also a month of social connections and generosity.

During Ramadan, fasting Muslims are required to embrace and live up to the core values of humanity and brotherhood. It is a month of sharing, caring, and giving. One key mandate during this month is to help the less fortunate and the needy at home and abroad.

This year Ramadan falls amidst wars and conflicts. The Israeli wars in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen have caused much suffering and destruction. Ramadan this year is a challenge for people who have lost their homes and loved ones. They will observe the daily fast despite all the hardships.

The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) hopes that the holy month of Ramadan will bring peace to all Muslims and others worldwide and mark the end of all tragedies.

“In the spirit of the month, we urge our friends and supporters to be generous in their support of the less fortunate in the US and abroad,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director.
