[Michigan, November 11, 2023]:

The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) calls upon President Biden to compel Israel to stop its ongoing bombardment of hospitals and other medical facilities, medical teams, and medical rescue teams. Hospitals are already beyond capacity and overcrowded with patients.

The hospital system in Gaza has already collapsed and is barely functioning. Hospitals are unable to provide the necessary aid to the continued flow of injured people especially children, women, and the elderly. The siege and continued bombardment are turning these facilities into de facto graveyards. Medical care personnel are urging the international community to interfere before it is too late.

International law regulates conflict. It is beyond doubt that Israel is violating all laws of war and admitting to these violations! Israel has declared total war on Gaza. The intent to attack hospitals has been clear from the start of the conflict. Israel has claimed that Hamas facilities are under hospital grounds. Palestinians have offered to have international teams visit their facilities and debunk Israel’s lies. That did not happen due to the extreme danger in Gaza. Israel could have stopped the bombing and allowed international teams to visit the facilities to check on its claims. It did not.

Just a few minutes ago while authoring this report we watched a CNN report that the Red Cross has declared that Gaza’s health care system has passed the “point of no return.” The American media is unable to cover for Israel’s crimes anymore. Secretary Antony Blinken said, “too many Palestinians have been killed.” Considering these developments and admissions, we call for an immediate ceasefire and opening the border for a flood of all needed aid to Gaza.

“Gaza is a test for all humanity and our world is failing the test,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “Hospitals are not military targets, and I can’t believe that we have to state that elementary fact,” added Hamad. “The only person in the world who can put an end to these lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,” concluded Hamad.
