The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) expresses its sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the late State of Michigan Superintendent of schools and former Dearborn Public Schools superintendent, Mr. Brian Whiston.

Mr. Whiston passed away last night after a long battle with cancer.  He leaves behind a great and outstanding legacy of public service and unique leadership advancing education in Michigan. May his outstanding legacy bring some comfort to his family and friends during this difficult time.

“Brian was a great man, a unique educational leader, a man of honor whose passion for education was evident through his outstanding leadership through his entire professional career,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “I worked with Brian throughout the years and I attest to his dedication to quality education in Dearborn and across Michigan,” continued Hamad.” “It is a big loss and we will miss him,” concluded Hamad.
