The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) strongly condemns the recent Israeli pager and wireless terror attacks in Lebanon. These vicious and heinous unprecedented attacks took place in heavily populated areas and across Lebanon. These attacks reflect the Israeli callous attitude that Arab and Muslim lives do not matter. Israel has a sense of impunity that none in the world can stop it from continuing in its killing spree.
These attacks are attacks on the whole people of Lebanon. Regardless of the claimed target, blowing up thousands of electronic devices among civilians is a war crime. Israeli war crimes in Lebanon should not surprise us except in their level of callousness and depravity. These crimes are a continuation of the war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank.
Israel continues to act in full impunity enabled by the Biden administration, the very administration that promised a foreign policy grounded in human rights and international law. The US continues to provide unprecedented levels of all kinds of support to Israel, without asking for anything in return. The US has not been able to even convince the Israelis to allow food and other provisions into Gaza anywhere near what is needed. Biden’s weakness has emboldened Israelis to commit a genocide and other crimes.
Regardless of whether this recent war crime would lead to a wider war or would not, we urge the Biden administration to stop its unlimited support of Israel and save whatever credibility on human rights and international law the US has.
“No country in the world other than Israel can get away with genocide and other depraved attacks such as the ones in Lebanon,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “We hold the Biden administration fully responsible for Israeli crimes and the only country that can check Israeli insanity is the US,” added Hamad.
