In 2001, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) General Conference proclaimed November 10 as World Science Day for Peace and Development to encourage the use of science to positively benefit all of society and for the preservation of peace. This year UNESCO is focusing on the important role of science centers and museums worldwide in promoting and encouraging the public’s interest in science and technology.
AHRC-USA encourages people of all generations to visit their local community’s science center and museums to learn more about how science advances our societies and continues to connect all of humanity.
