[Michigan, October 15, 2023]:
The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) has decided to cancel its annual gala for this year 2023. The “Spirit of Humanity” Awards and Dinner Gala was scheduled to be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, in Dearborn, Michigan.

AHRC spends a whole year planning for this gala. It is our signature much-anticipated event of the year. The AHRC family looks forward to this event. However, we find ourselves with no choice but to cancel the gala this year. It is impossible for us to celebrate human rights and honor our distinguished guests while a most tragic and catastrophic industrial-scale violation of human rights is ongoing in Gaza.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this change may cause to our friends, gala awardees, guests and supporters.
AHRC has received overwhelming and generous support for the gala this year. We expected over 800 guests to join us. We are grateful for this support.

We hope that we will have our 2024 gala with lasting and just peace in the region and around the world.
