A pediatrician from Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Khaler has devoted his medical career to serving underserved populations in metropolitan Chicago and around the world. Dr. Khaler attended medical school at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He completed his pediatric residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and then continued on at Cook County Hospital as a doctor for the next 34 years. Upon leaving Cook County hospital, he worked at a large Federally Qualified Health Center as a Regional Medical Director and then as the Chief Medical Officer at a large Community Health Center.
He has participated in medical missions in Africa, Mexico, Central and Latin America, Jordan and Lebanon. He also works yearly at a clinic in Duchy, Haiti. In addition, Dr. Khaler is a member of the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) and participates in its conferences.
