[Michigan, December 18, 2023]:

On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. the Michigan Palestine Task Force for Palestine, alongside with over 35 local and national supporting organizations including AHRC, is hosting a community event against the ongoing Israeli’s genocidal war against the occupied Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. The event will be held at Greenfield Manor located at 4770 Greenfield Rd. in Dearborn.

Organizers stress that this is not a campaign event. The event is free and open to the public, and the availability of seats is based on a first come first served basis.

Dr. Cornel West, a world-renowned scholar, activist and 2024 presidential candidate will be the event’s keynote speaker.

The community rally is intended to raise awareness of and to protest the ongoing Israel genocide in Gaza. Israel continues to defy the international community that has made its demand for a permanent ceasefire clear at the United Nations- at the Security Council and at the General Assembly.

The painful reality is that the US stands alone in supporting the Israeli genocide and vetoing a ceasefire.

The Gaza genocide has shocked the conscience of the world. December is a month of festivities, but the genocide has cast a shadow of sorrow and desperation worldwide. The birthplace of Jesus, the city of Bethlehem, Palestine has cancelled Christmas festivities due to the ongoing genocide. There is just too much death and suffering.

AHRC calls upon the Biden administration to support a permanent ceasefire.
