AHRC extends wishes for a peaceful and safe Eid Al-Fitr to all celebrating:
The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) extends its wishes for a safe, pleasant, and peaceful Eid Al-Fitr to all Muslims in America and across the globe. Eid Al-Fitr is expected to fall on Sunday, March 30, 2025. The Eid marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
AHRC reminds all Mosques and Islamic Centers of the importance of taking all the necessary safety precautions and measures during the mass prayers festivity.
AHRC commends federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies for their vigilance and assistance in making sure all Michiganders can celebrate their occasions freely and safely.
Eid Al-Fitr falls this year amidst ongoing crises in several Muslim countries that are being torn by wars and conflicts in Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, and other countries. The ongoing Israeli genocidal war against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank is in a class of its own for its callousness and depravity. The Islamic religious injunction is to celebrate religious holidays despite personal, social, or political challenges.
Eid Al-Fitr this year coincides with the 49th anniversary of the Palestine Land Day “Yom al-Ard,”. In 1976, in response to the Israeli government’s announcement of a plan to expropriate thousands of dunams of land for state purposes, a general strike and marches were organized in Arab towns from the Galilee to the Negev. Since then, March 30th has continued to serve as a reminder of the Palestinian plight and struggle towards ending the occupation and building a viable Palestinian state. The Nakba/Catastrophe is ongoing.
“Despite everything, we remain optimistic,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director “We wish all Muslims a happy and blessed Eid-Al-Fitr,” continued Hamad. “We hope and pray that by next Eid Al-Fitr peace and justice will be the reality in the Holy Land and across the world,” added Hamad.
