[Michigan, June 2, 2026]

The American Human Rights Council (AHRC) extends its heartfelt congratulations to all high school and college graduates of the Class of 2026. This milestone is a celebration of years of dedication, perseverance, and the unwavering support of families and educators. The future begins today. Your journey shapes our future.

Graduation is more than a ceremony — it is a powerful moment of transformation. It marks the culmination of hard work and the beginning of new journeys filled with promise, opportunity, and the pursuit of dreams. It is a reminder of the profound blessing of access to education in America, and a call to remember the millions around the world who are denied this basic human right due to poverty, conflict, discrimination, and war. Education is a fundamental human right, and every person, everywhere, deserves the chance to learn, grow, and build a future.

Our young people are the future leaders of our communities and the architects of tomorrow. Despite the challenges they face, their energy, creativity, and resilience shape the future of our nation. They are not only the leaders of tomorrow — they are leaders today, driving change and inspiring hope across every sector of society.

AHRC extends a special salute to the courageous student movement rising across campuses nationwide, including here in Michigan. These students have stood with moral clarity against the ongoing genocide in Gaza, reminding the nation that the pursuit of justice is a core American value. Their peaceful advocacy reflects America at its best — a tradition of conscience, courage, and speaking truth to power. AHRC honors their commitment to human rights and human dignity.

As students celebrate this joyful achievement, AHRC urges all graduates to celebrate responsibly. Each year, preventable tragedies such as reckless driving claim precious young lives. We encourage every graduate to celebrate responsibly.

Graduation marks the beginning of a new chapter — a chapter filled with opportunities to pursue goals, embrace new experiences, and contribute to a better world.

“The parents and the greater support network in school and out of school deserve credit on graduation day,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “It really takes a village to raise a child and guide them to achieve their goals,” continued Hamad.

“Learning does not stop on graduation day,” said Dr. Saleh Muslah, AHRC Board President. “I advise our graduates to be lifetime learners,” added Dr. Muslah.
