[Michigan, June 12, 2024]:
The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) extends to all Muslims wishes for a safe, blessed, and peaceful Eid Al Adha “Feast of the Sacrifice” that falls on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
The Eid coincides with Father’s Day in America this year. AHRC wishes all fathers a pleasant day.
Eid Al Adha is the second major Muslim Holiday in the Muslim lunar calendar. It marks the end of the annual pilgrimage season (Hajj) to Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
This year, Eid Al Adha falls amidst the ongoing Israeli genocidal war against the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Despite the immense pain, huge casualties and the unprecedented war crimes, Muslims are determined to observe the occasion and related traditions.
AHRC welcomes the collective Eid Al Adha outdoor prayer that will be held on Sunday June 16 at 8:30 a.m. in front of Dearborn’s Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. This collective prayer is in solidarity with Gaza and in support of a permanent ceasefire as well as peace and justice in Palestine.
“The whole world condemns the genocide in Gaza,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “Our community’s Unity prayer is a message to Gaza and to the rest of the world that we stand united against the genocide,” added Hamad.

AHRC Public Service Announcement:
(Michigan, June 12, 2024)-Eid Al Adha Unity Outdoor Prayer for Gaza in Dearborn:
The Michigan Task Force for Palestine calls upon all Muslims who are observing Eid Al Adha to join in the Unity outdoor Eid Prayer for Gaza on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at 7:30 a.m. The Unity prayer will be held at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center (Dearborn Civic Center) located at 15801 Michigan Ave.
This year’s Eid Al Adha holiday is marred by Israel’s genocidal war against the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. The Israeli war against innocent civilians; including elderly, women and children; continues despite all efforts by the international community, mediators and UN resolutions. Israel continues to act in full impunity and with no accountability.
This Eid Al Adha Unity prayer is another community stance of full solidarity with the Palestinians demanding a permanent ceasefire as a first step to a peaceful and just resolution to the conflict. The Michigan Task Force for Palestine calls upon the Biden Administration to use its immense leverage with Israel to compel the extreme right- wing Netanyahu government to accede to the world’s demands for a permanent ceasefire and for peace and justice in Palestine.
The Michigan Task Force for Palestine calls on all Muslims who can to join the Unity prayer and urges all to bring their own prayer rug, Palestinian flags, and kufiyahs to show solidarity with the people of Gaza.
The Michigan Task Force for Palestine wishes all Muslims a safe and blessed Eid Al Adha.
