[Michigan, May 31, 2023]:
The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) extends its heartfelt congratulations to all 2023 high school graduates wishing them all further success and a bright future. AHRC commends them all for their academic achievements and success. AHRC salutes all the teachers and staff for their tireless and dedicated efforts to prepare a generation capable of meeting life’s challenges.
During this summer of transition between high school and further education, training, or full-time work, AHRC urges all to be mindful of safety during the summer period. Driving responsibly is a key issue today. After years of hard work and study, all deserve a break to enjoy life. However, the danger of reckless and irresponsible driving and drivers is a true challenge facing our society. It is very unfortunate that we are losing precious lives to reckless driving. This is avoidable and preventable.
AHRC urges all, especially the young drivers, to enjoy life responsibly and safely. The loss of one’s life or the lives of others through reckless and irresponsible driving is preventable through responsible driving.
The way people drive tells you a lot about their morality and respect for the rule of law. Driving on public roads is not karting or kart racing. A car on the road that is not properly controlled, given the metal and the momentum, is more dangerous than a loaded gun improperly managed. A few minutes of bravado can cause a lifetime of pain and misery for oneself and others. That is not even a close call as a choice for rational people.
“Our children are society’s most important asset,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “We can’t emphasize enough the importance of their acting responsibly for their safety and the safety of others,” added Hamad.
