The recent Israeli interception of the Gaza-bound aid boat Madleen, carrying peace activists including Greta Thunberg, MP Rima Hassan and Thaigo Avila, serves as another stark reminder that Israel continues its genocide in Gaza with impunity. The blockade, aimed at preventing humanitarian aid from reaching the starving people of Gaza, underscores the severity of the crisis.
Israel’s relentless military operations have led to unprecedented civilian casualties, particularly among children. These tragedies unfold in real-time, live streamed for the world to see. Yet, despite a global population of over 8 billion—including nearly 2 billion Muslims—the world remains incapable of compelling Israel to halt its ongoing attacks on Gaza and the West Bank. Even as bombardments continue in Lebanon, despite ceasefire declarations, the international response remains ineffective.
The Madleen incident highlights the silence and complicity of major global powers. The United States, through steady political, financial, and military support, remains Israel’s key ally, enabling its actions without consequence. Meanwhile, the world is unable to stop Israel because of the unlimited US support.
Despite starvation and dire living conditions, Palestinians in Gaza refuse to surrender. The current food distribution mechanisms have become death traps, as desperate civilians seeking basic sustenance are repeatedly targeted, further mocking humanitarian efforts and reinforcing that Israel is deliberately committing genocide in Gaza.
Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, the killings persist, sparing no one, whether young or old, humanitarian aid workers, journalists, or medical personnel. The scale of destruction is unparalleled in modern history, dragging humanity backward into an era devoid of morality and justice.
We salute the courage of all who are trying to break the siege on Gaza. We encourage others to continue to challenge the siege and starvation in Gaza.
The question remains: After all this devastation, when will the world finally act? How long will modern civilization continue to tolerate these crimes against humanity?
