AHRC Announces its 2025 Spirit of Humanity Awardees:
Celebrating Compassion. Honoring Resilience. Inspiring Hope.

“Through Challenges, We Rise.”
In a world beset by challenges, the human spirit endures — reaching across divides, lifting others, and lighting the way forward.

The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) is pleased to announce its 2025 Spirit of Humanity awardees. The Award Ceremony will be held during the annual AHRC “Spirit of Humanity” Awards & Dinner Gala on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in Dearborn.

Despite the world’s unprecedented challenges, AHRC’s Gala is one important occasion to promote and advance the cause of human rights and the culture of human dignity and respect at home and abroad. We persist despite all the challenges. Our work is needed more than ever before.

AHRC Spirit of Humanity Award
The Oath in Action Award
Presented to Dr. Nedal Jboor co-founder of Doctors Against Genocide (DAG). In recognition of his mobilizing thousands of healthcare professionals worldwide to uphold the medical oath—to heal and serve humanity—and his belief that genocide is the greatest public health emergency of our time.

AHRC “Spirit of Humanity” Award
Wings of Humanity Award
Presented to Dr. Nidhal Garmo, President, One World Medical Mission; Vice Chair, World Medical Relief, In recognition of her extraordinary compassion, unwavering dedication, and selfless service to humanity. Her tireless efforts transcend race, faith, origin, and borders—uplifting lives, inspiring hope, and embodying the true spirit of unity and grace.

AHRC “Spirt of Humanity Award”
Voices for Change Community Impact Award
Presented to Dr. Ahmad Ghanim (AG), Cofounder of the Metro Detroit Political Action Network, In recognition of his exceptional commitment to equity, advocacy, and uplifting underrepresented voices through impactful community service and civic leadership. His work continues to inspire collective action and build a more just and inclusive society.

As we move forward with preparations, we call on all who believe in justice to help AHRC amplify its vital voice on behalf of the voiceless. With your gracious support and participation, this Gala will be more than a celebration—it will be a declaration: human rights are alive, hope endures, and together, we will continue the fight.

AHRC Mission:
The American Human Rights Council (AHRC) is dedicated to defending and protecting human rights as outlined in the U.S. Constitution and the United Nations 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The AHRC was formed to protect these rights and advocate for anyone whose rights are being violated or denied. To that end, the AHRC will build a tenacious, objective, and carefully guided advocacy program that will serve to defend individual human rights, whenever and wherever they are being infringed upon.
