The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) strongly reaffirms Amnesty International’s recent declaration that Israel is deliberately using starvation as a weapon against civilians in Gaza. The report, based on first-hand testimonies gathered in recent weeks, documents the systematic destruction of Palestinian health, well-being, and social infrastructure. Civilians are being displaced, malnourished, and traumatized. It is a relentless Israeli campaign of deprivation and suffering.
Gaza has become a 24-hour cycle of death. According to the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), children are dying from bombardment, starvation, and the collapse of essential services. “In Gaza, an average of 28 children a day—the size of a classroom—have been killed,” UNICEF reported. The United Nations and humanitarian organizations continue to warn of an imminent famine.
The recent decision by the U.S. State Department to halt visa processing for residents of Gaza further compounds this humanitarian crisis. This policy denies thousands of injured and critically ill Palestinian children the opportunity to seek life-saving medical treatment in the US. With Gaza’s healthcare system destroyed by Israel and Israel reportedly weaponizing access to food and medicine, this decision is both appalling and inhumane.
AHRC urgently calls on President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to reinstate the policy of allowing Palestinian children to be treated in the US. For wounded and amputated children, access to medical care is their only hope for survival. The fact that an extremist supporter of Israel, the fringe fanatic Laura Loomer, was able to have this humanitarian policy suspended adds insult to injury.
AHRC appeals to all peace-loving individuals, advocates of justice, and communities of conscience to take immediate action. Demand a ceasefire. Demand an end to starvation and mass extermination. Demand the protection of Palestinian lives.
Considering Israel’s ongoing campaign of destruction and its openly stated ambitions for a “Greater Israel,” the need for international protection for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank has never been more urgent. Without it, Palestinians remain subject to the ongoing unchecked violence, forced displacement, and the erasure of their national identity.
The world must act now to uphold international law, defend human dignity, and prevent further atrocities.
